Cheerings began when I bought a friend feeling low some earrings to cheer her up. I told her they weren’t just earrings, they were ‘cheerings' and it worked a treat. At the same time, caring for my Mum with dementia opened my eyes to the lives of unpaid carers, many living tough times alone. It all made me wonder if something simple like buying a fab pair of earrings could do two things: 1) bring cheer to you or someone you care about and 2) do something small to support the estimated 5.7m unpaid carers in the UK. So I started building the business, Carers UK agreed to let me donate and - ta-daaa - Cheerings was born!
